Our Champions donate their gift to GOODFELLA'S.
Michael Wilson from Goodfella's  (Part Of Griffith Mental Health Consumer Advisory Group) accepting the Gifts donated from 1st place walkers Anthony Salmon, Mark Harris & Alan Barton.

We would like to thank Mark Harris, Anthony Salmon, Alan Barton and Suicide Awareness, and everyone that took part in the 2005 Walk Away Your Worries for the kind donation of this TV and Surround Sound System to the Griffith Goodfella's Group as part of Griffith Mental Health Consumer Advisory Group.

We meet at the Griffith Mental Health rehabilitaion building each week. We are involved in the community through social and recreational and volunteer activities. We would like to extend an invitation to any man in the Griffith community that would like to attend one of our regular meetings or get information on the Mental Health Consumer Advisory Group, you can feel free to contact Michael Wilson on 6962 7511 in work hours.

They donated their fantastic gift of a Philips Plasma TV
to JPET.
   

JPET (JOB PLACEMENT, EDUCATION, TRAINING)

JPET is a Government program to assist young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or facing similiar severe problems, in ways which not only help them with their income and personal support needs, but which also ensure they secure career paths and sustainable futures.

JPET targets young people 15-21 years of age, who face multiple barriers to participation in education, or vocational training, or gaining and maintaining employment. The JPET client group covers disadvantaged young people who are:

  • Youth attending school or TAFE who are homeless or at risk of being homeless
  • Youth not attending school or TAFE who are homeless or at risk of being homeless
  • Youth not in regular employment who are homeless or at risk of being homeless
  • Ex - offenders who are not necessarily homeless
  • Refugess, who are not necessarily homeless
  • State wards or youth exiting wardship who are not necessarily homeless

JPET also offers:

  • Court support
  • Advocacy
  • Budgeting skills
  • Life skills programs
  • Drug and alcohol programs
  • Accommodation

The Griffith JPET service operates from the Griffith Youth Centre located at 29-31 Yambil Street Griffith.
