The
District's Youth will have the opportunity to
share their ideas on positive steps on moving
forward after the tragic death of local teenager
Andrew Farrugia when fifty young people attend
a 'Speak Out' meeting on Tuesday 13th February
and afterwards online.
Val
Rowe from Suicide Awareness and Mark Taylor from
Griffith Skills Training Centre will host the
meeting at Griffith Skills Training Centre with
the aim of compiling the opinions, ideas and thoughts
onto the Suicide Awareness website and to also
hand a copy to Griffith City Councillors.
Val
believes the 'Speak Out' will allow our youth
the chance to have their say. Participants involved
in the 'Speak Out' will then head off down Banna
Avenue with notepads to collect information from
other people on their thoughts.
"I
think we may be the first to put the youth at
the top of the agenda. We have got to move on
and become positive. The Youth are really important,
they are our future. Their ideas must be included.
We will never solve a problem without input from
every age," said Val.
After
the 'Speak Out' meeting, Val is inviting other
youth from around the district to email their
thoughts to Brad George at StarFM brad.george@starfm.com.au
