SPEAK
OUT WAS MOTIVATIONAL
Last
week's Speak Out was heralded by organisers as
a big success with some of the ideas put forward
being described as very motivational.
The
Speak Out was organised by Suicide Awareness'
Val Rowe and Mark Taylor of Griffith Skills Training
Centre, and was so positive that another meeting
has been arranged in two weeks time.
Twenty
of the City's youth aged between 14 and 21 attended
the Speak Out with most of them taking the opportunity
to voice their ideas.
Val
Rowe says a series of Speak Out's will be held
over the next three months and on completion of
the Speak Out's the responses will be released.
"Some
of the things they want are already here, they
just need some implementation. They just want
everyday things," said Val, "I'm really
looking forward to working with the kids over
the next few weeks."
Other
young people in the area also have the opportunity
to have a say by emailing Val on help@suicideawareness.com.au
or by calling MIA Birds and Fish for a survey
sheet.
