THE Griffith Touch Association has thrown its
weight behind local charity Suicide Awareness,
donating $1000 to assist in educating people
about depression.
Griffith Touch Association referees director
Frank Scarfone said more had to be done to educate
the public about the warning signs of the disease."We
wanted the money to stay local and help people
in Griffith," Scarfone said.
Suicde Awareness's Val Rowe said given the drought,
all donations from the public would be welcomed.
"There are a lot of families in a lot of
trouble and this helps a great deal," Rowe
said.
